Pediatric Smile Care

Creating positive experiences and healthy habits for lifelong dental wellness.

Your Child's First Teeth

Your child's 20 baby teeth will begin to appear usually between six and nine months, though in some cases it may start as early as three months or as late as twelve months. The two lower front teeth tend to erupt first, followed by the two upper ones. The first molars come in next, followed by the canines (eyeteeth). To help with teething discomfort, wipe your child’s gums and newly erupting teeth with a water-soaked gauze pad or damp washcloth.

Infant Dentistry

Time for your child's first dental visit or need something looked at? We offer infant examinations to evaluate any potential issues.

Healthy Smile Habits

As your child grows, we focus on prevention and education to ensure their smile remains healthy. Our goal is to help children learn and develop consistent oral hygiene habits.

Prophylaxis
(Teeth Cleaning)

During their regular six-month appointment, your child will experience a gentle and thorough cleaning to help prevent cavities and promote overall oral health.

Tooth Colored Fillings

When necessary we use tooth colored filling materials. The material is selected based on each patient’s specific needs to ensure both function and a natural appearance.

Dental Sealants

A protective coating can be professionally applied to prevent cavities by sealing the chewing surfaces. Dental sealants are easy to apply and provide years of protection.

Topical
Fluoride Treatment

Optional application of topical fluoride both strengthens teeth and kills bacteria that cause cavities.

Tooth Extractions

In some cases, to prevent disrupting or aid in oral health development, we may need to extract a tooth. We can extract both baby and adult teeth when necessary.

Dental Emergencies

If you are unsure if the pain or trauma your child is experiencing requires immediate attention, please call us.

Dental Bonding

Designed to match the natural tooth color, composite bonding repairs chipped or minor fractures to front teeth.

Root Canal Treatment

Designed to remove nerves from the infected pulp of a tooth, a root canal eliminates infection and pain while also reducing the chance of future infection.

Airway Evaluation

Oral health is closely connected to how you breathe. That’s why we evaluate your child’s airway as part of their dental exam. Early signs of airway issues—like mouth breathing, snoring, or restless sleep—can impact growth, development, and overall health. By catching concerns early, we can guide you toward the right support to help your child thrive.

Low Radiation Digital X-rays

No more painful bitewings. Digital X-rays are painless and provide crystal clear images without chemicals or increased radiation exposure.

Child-friendly Sedation Dentistry

Sedation options are based on your child's comfort and needs. We offer nitrous oxide, as well as conscious sedation when necessary. IV sedation is available on a case-by-case basis and is administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist.

Orthodontic Evaluation

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a check-up with an orthodontic specialist no later than age 7. Interceptive orthodontic treatment around this time can help direct proper tooth positioning and/or jaw growth, eliminating or simplifying the need for later treatment.

Intraoral Camera

With real-time chairside imaging, the intraoral camera gives us (and you!) a clear, close look at your child’s mouth.

“I highly recommend Dr. Hamze! She is a very skilled dentist and a great person. I worked alongside her for years and have seen her high quality dental work first hand. She treats all her patients with the care she gives her own kids and puts their best interest first. This office is a great addition to the El Segundo community!”
